Ovo bi moglo biti dobro za cijenu nafte.
Bush praises Putin’s role on Iran
Sun, 06 Jul 2008 02:24:49
George W. Bush (L) and Vladimir Putin
The US president has thanked Russia’s premier for his effective leadership in the nuclear fuel issue for Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant.
“Vladimir Putin and I worked on the issue and he showed leadership in it, which I would like to thank him for,” President George Bush said in the White House.
The chief executive recalled that then Russian president traveled to Iran and proposed supplies of Russian enriched uranium for Iran’s civil nuclear energy program on the condition that spent Russian fuel rods be returned to Russia.
Russia subsequently delivered eight consignments of nuclear fuel to Iran for the start up of the Bushehr power plant.
While the United States accuses Iran of seeking a nuclear weapons program under the guise of uranium enrichment, Iran categorically denies the charges. Tehran emphasizes its nuclear activities are peaceful and aimed at power generation and various medical applications.

OPEC chief: Strong demand will keep oil prices up
ALGIERS, Algeria (AP) -July,6
"OPEC chief Chakib Khelil says the world’s surging oil prices are not likely to fall.
He says strong market demand, especially from China and India, is one reason prices will stay as high as they are."
July 7 (Bloomberg) — Asian stocks advanced, led by financial and technology companies, after China Merchants Bank Co. forecast higher profits and as investors speculated recent losses were excessive.
China Merchants, the nation’s most profitable bank, rallied the most in three months. Trend Micro Inc., a Japanese anti-virus software developer, and Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd., Hong Kong’s largest property company, jumped on brokerage upgrades. Mizuho Financial Group Inc. and Mitsubishi Estate Co. led a rebound in Japan after the Nikkei 225 Stock Average ended 12 days of declines, the longest losing streak in 54 years.

Dow Jones indeks teško će se izvući iz područja medvjeda ako ovoga tjedna nastave rasti cijene nafte i ako prva poslovna izvješća američkih kompanija ne oraspolože ulagače na Wall Streetu.

Oil prices drop below $144 as Iran tensions eases
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Oil dropped below $144 a barrel today in Asia on signs of easing tensions over Iran’s nuclear program.
Iran on Friday gave an undisclosed response to an international offer of incentives if it suspends uranium enrichment, a central part of its nuclear program that can produce either fuel for a nuclear reactor or the material for a warhead.
A positive response could open the way to renewed negotiations that might help cool tense exchanges over the possibility of a military strike by Israel or the U.S. on OPEC’s second largest oil producer. Traders worry such a strike could disrupt already tight oil supplies.
