China hopes US will be ready for compromise
China has informed the United States where it stands in their trade negotiations and Beijing hopes the US will be prepared to “meet China halfway,” a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday.
The spokesperson added that China hopes everyone will be prepared to look into the concerns of the other side and added that it would be good to come to a conclusion on trade this week.
The ministry repeated once again that the US threatened with increasing tariffs “many times” in the past. Chinese and US negotiators are due to meet on Thursday, with the latest reports confirming that Vice Premier Liu He will be present at the talks.
