ZAGREB (Croatia), February 11 (SeeNews) – Croatian share indices dropped further on Monday, for a fifth time in as many trading days, amid massive selling on volatile domestic market, brokers said.
“The beginning of the trading week brought another embarrassing experience for investors,” said Zeljko Bunjevac, an analyst with consultancy Fima Fas.
Intraday, the 32-share Crobex index lost more than 6.0% and one more knock-out certificate became worthless to its owners as its strike price was at the 3,900 level of the Crobex, he said. These certificates, similar to baskets of shares, have set highest and lowest levels of the index and are being issued by several big Western banks.
After this sharp decline in the morning, the benchmark erased part of losses and closed at 4,017.9 points, down 2.20% from Friday and its lowest level since March last year. The Crobex was down 1.34% on Friday after a volatile trading session marked by continued sell-off.
From a technical point of view, it seems that the Crobex has entered an “oversold” territory, the analyst said.
The Croemi 20-share index, calculated by commercial bank Raiffeisenbank Austria, shed 1.96% to 3,311.24 points. The narrowest CROX index of the 10 most traded stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange, launched by the Vienna Stock Exchange, was down 1.40% in euro terms to 2,086.60 points.
Turnover in floor trading on the Zagreb bourse was 127 million kuna ($25.3 million/17.5 million euro), relatively high and almost unchanged from 135.5 million kuna on Friday.
Having fallen intraday, blue-chip telecommunications company T-HT ended 1.09% higher at 294.98 kuna, on the largest daily turnover, 27 million kuna.
Fast moving consumer goods distributor Atlantic Grupa fell 0.8% to 808 kuna closing on 8.6 million kuna of turnover. Blue-chip oil and gas company INA lost 4.46% to 2,207 kuna on 6.9 million kuna of tunrover.
All four shipping companies that are members of the Crobex – Atlantska Plovidba, Uljanik Plovidba, Jadroplov and Tankreska Plovidba – ended lower, in a range from 0.5% by Tankerska to 2.31% by Atlantska, shrugging off a recovery of the Baltic Dry Index.
The fixed-income Crobis index lost 0.13% to end at 95.66 points.

A sto te ima ispravljati kad tupis o tamo nekom Kosovu, to sam ja ucinio, na sto se nisi naravno osvrtao. Ja sam uvijek za konstruktivne natpise, no ovo s Kosovom je obicna bedastoca…
