Equities on Wall Street ended the last trading session of the week substantially higher following several optimistic statements on trade made by United States officials. President Donald Trump claimed there was a “very good chance” of Washington and Beijing striking a trade deal, while White House Economic Adviser Larry Kudlow said there may be “positive surprises” at the next week’s trade negotiations.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 were both up 1.42% at the closing bell. Apple Inc. was the best performer on DJIA, while Chubb Ltd. increased the most on the second index. The Nasdaq 100 jumped 1.51% as Skyworkds Solutions Inc. surged 4.37%.
