US proposes new trade talks with China – report
The United States proposed a new round of trade talks with China before the administration of President Donald Trump slaps additional tariffs on Chinese imports, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday citing people with knowledge of the matter.
According to the report, senior administration officials, including Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, sent an invitation to their Chinese counterparts recently, proposing fresh discussions on trade in the coming weeks.

The Baltic Dry index falls 0.7 per cent to 1,357 points on Monday, according to TDN Direkt.

Capesize drives the index down and falls 1.6 percent to 15.329. Panamax also falls, down 0.3 percent to 12.184. Handysize and Supramax both increase, respectively, 1.5 percent to 8,678 and 0.4 percent to 12,304.
